The Living Pins’ singer and guitarist, Carrie Clark, has this to say … “‘Scorpion’ has some Paisley Underground, you know, Dream Syndicate and Rain Parade, woven into it … plus it’s a story-telling song. And those were really big on FM radio. So it’s like a 70s story song with these beautiful effected guitars that come from our own live music experience.”

Single released 9/26/2023

“‘Aeroplane,’ the kind of straightforward rock and roll track that is all too uncommon these days … a truly rousing rock and roll anthem that could command an arena stage as much as it could a bar room.”

—Glide Magazine

Single released 12/20/2022

Sort of like “The Girl From Ipanema” meets noise pop.

Single released 8/8/2022

“The song, “Oh Yeah” is part of a new EP of perfect summertime tunes. This one features a constant buzzing groove and cheery vocals akin to the British Invasion meets Britpop.”

We love the fact that our EP might have its own bio. Biography for a non-human entity. Maybe it’s a tree. Or some sort of weird, busted-up refrigerator, Austin garage apartment, fanzine, food co-op, second-hand gnarly green sweater thing.

Mostly recorded late on Friday and Saturday nights during the lockdown of Fall of 2020, in the empty lobby of Splinter Group, an East Austin artisan collective, “Fingers crossed the power tools stay silent during the next guitar overdub …” was the mantra. Face masks and headphones were the main accessories.

We love the fact that Matt Devine played his Mick Taylor-esque endless guitar solo on “Jaguar” from a different time zone out in LA.
